I have always done the opposite of what I was trained to do... Having little technical background, I became a photographer. Adopting a machine, I do my utmost to make it malfunction. For me, to make a photograph is to make an anti-photograph.

William Klein

Today I visited the William Klein - 5 Cities exposition in Brusselson its very last day.

William Klein is a big example for my vision on street photography.
Not only did he break with the strict rules, like used by Henri Cartier-Bresson, he also was one of the first to use a close 'into the face' approach of his subjects.
How I love his direct street portrets, hard contrasts, lots of grain and often poor sharpness.
